D4 Central Fire Academy

The Central Fire Academy Fall class has posted on Acadis. This class will consist of Hazmat Awareness/Hazmat Ops, Firefighter 1, and Firefighter 2 Course. Classes are posted in Acadis to be signed up for.

Please sign up for all 4 classes. Class will be at District 4 Lafayette Training center. Class times will be on the weekdays from 1800-2200 and Saturdays classes begin at 0800 until done. Class will consist of online work, homework, and also in class work.

D4 North FFI and HazMat Awareness

The North Fire Academy has posted on Acadis. This class will consist of Hazmat Awareness and Firefighter 1 Course. Classes are posted in Acadis to be signed up for.

Please sign up for both. Class will be at District 4 Monticello Training Center at Monticello Fire Station 1. Class will held Monday/Wednesday 1800-2100. Saturday classes begin at 0900 until done. Class will consist of online work with also in-class work with skills.

Driver Operators

The Driver Operators classes are up on Acadis. Please be aware that you will need to have the General before you are able to take the Aerial or Mobile Water Supply. If you have general already you will have to do one of two things.

1.) If you have general certification and you have signed paperwork, that shows that you have driven and have done the General Skills in the apparatus of the certification you going for, within the past year, you need to email me at district4firetraining@gmail.com with a copy of the paperwork showing everything signed off from the Lead Evaluator and Date.

2.) If you have general certification but don’t have the skills signed sheet for the apparatus that you are taking the other D/O class Aerial/MWS then you will need to make the skill day 09/27/2020 be signed off for the skills. There may be a additional day added depending on the amount of students. You also need to email me at district4firetraining@gmail.com and tell me that you will need to be at the general practical but not in class.

Prerequisites:

DRIVER OPERATOR GENERAL:

  1. First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for one year
  2. A valid driver’s license

DRIVER OPERATOR AERIAL:

  1. Shall have completed the DOG course
  2. First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for one year
  3. A valid driver’s license

DRIVER OPERATOR MOBILE WATER SUPPLY:

  1. Shall have completed the DOG course
  2. First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for one year
  3. A valid driver’s license

D/O Mobile Water Supply

All,
There are two D/O classes that are in Acadis. These two classes go together. You need to be available for both classes. Classes will be held in Battle Ground Fire Station One.


Fire – Driver/Operator General – DOG0126

Brief DescriptionTo provide a firefighter with Driver Operator knowledge/skills to meet the min. JPRs in NFPA 1002.Full DescriptionThis course is designed to train firefighting driver/operators with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in NFPA 1002. This course prepares the firefighter to assume responsibility as a fire apparatus operator. It also, prepares the firefighter to understand the science of fluids at rest and in motion, and the physical relationships between water and the mechanisms for moving it to achieve desired fire flows. The program concentrates on numerical data and mathematical calculations. It also includes the study of the practices and procedures involved in the safe and effective operation of today’s fire apparatus. Additionally, this course is also designed for Officers who are responsible for the administration of vehicle operations. This course covers common driving hazards, vehicle maintenance and inspections, and driver’s training.

Resources RequiredIn order to test for this course you must meet the prerequisite of being a First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for 1 year and carry a valid driver’s license. If you do not meet these prerequisites you will not be issued a testing ID, and not allowed to test until you do meet these prerequisites.  It is suggested that any apparatus your department has, which the driver operator may use, to be at the course when the students are completing their practical skills so they may be tested on the specific apparatus they may use. Students shall understand and follow all instructions pertaining to operational safety, as stated by instructors or as written in course materials. Instructors and students shall be mindful of safety at all times. Conduct judged to be unsafe shall be grounds for dismissal from the course.

Reporting InstructionsApril 27th from 1800-2000 April 29th from 1800-2200 May 1st from 1800-2200 May 4th from 1800-2200 May 6th from 1800-2200 May 9th from 0800-1700 (The practical exam and written exam will take place this day)

This class will be run with the Mobile Water Supply Class DOMWS0030  that will follow in the end of May.  You need sign up for both classes.

Fire – Driver/Operator Mobile Water Supply – DOMWS0030

Brief DescriptionProvides Mobile Water Supply operators knowledge/skills to meet the min. JPRs in NFPA 1002.

Full DescriptionThe Driver Operator Mobile Water Supply (H2O) course is to provide operators with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements outlined in NFPA 1002: Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications.  This course is designed for fire apparatus drivers who will be operating a vehicle designed primarily for transporting (pickup, transporting, delivering) water to fire emergency scenes to be applied by other vehicles or pumping equipment.  Students will learn the basics of mobile water supply operations, fill site establishment, dump site establishment, and the operation of mobile water supply apparatus.  Students will be required to operate mobile water supply apparatus in a mobile water supply operation under mock emergency conditions.  Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to operate a mobile water supply apparatus during emergency situations. You will have the opportunity to practice apparatus positioning, drafting, and water shuttle operations. Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function safely and effectively as a Mobile Water Supply (H2O) operator.  Students will be required to operate pumper apparatus during a final practical skills testing.   Students shall understand and follow all instructions pertaining to operational safety, as stated by instructors or as written in course materials. Instructors and students shall be mindful of safety at all times. Conduct judged to be unsafe shall be grounds for dismissal from the course.

Training Dates05/26/2020 – 06/06/2020

PrerequisitesMust have completed and passed the D/O General Course Must be either a First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for 1 year

Resources RequiredIn order to test for this certification you must meet the prerequisite of being a First Class Firefighter or Firefighter II for 1 year and carry a valid driver’s license and you must have completed Driver Operator General. If you do not meet these prerequisites you will not receive a Testing ID and will not be allowed to test for this certification until you meet the prerequisites.
